Elasticated viscose stockinette

Formulated with a dual silicone barrier system consisting of dimethicone and trimethylsiloxysilicate (4%), this non-sting barrier cream provides a transparent, long-lasting and breathable protective layer which prevents bodily fluids and irritants from touching the skin, thus protecting it from further damage and breakdown while aiding healing. It moisturises and conditions the skin while maintaining its pH to help restore skin integrity. Suitable for use on intact and damaged skin, as well as with incontinence pads, the cream goes on transparent so you can see the underlying skin healing. This gentle, non-greasy cream resists wash off and can be used to prevent and protect the skin from irritation and damage caused by incontinence, wound exudate, shearing, as well as nappy rash. Suitable from birth and free from SLS, parabens, metals, alcohol, fragrances and colours, the cream is scientifically formulated to maximise skin coverage so a 1p size amount covers an area of 100cm squared.

A soap substitute and occlusive, leave-on emollient that is free from SLS, parabens, chlorocresol, fragrances and colours. Suitable from birth, the cream soothes, moisturises and protects the skin of those suffering from eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. This cooling cream is vegan certified and cruelty free. It contains white soft paraffin 15% and liquid paraffin 6%. Available in a pump bottle made from 25% less plastic.

Contains benzalkonium chloride, which is adsorbed on to dry skin scales, these being a feature of pityriasis capitis and other seborrhoeic scalp conditions. The scales are loosened and attain a net positive charge. In the presence of the anionic foaming agent, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, the dandruff scales are then levitated into the negatively charged surface of the foam and washed from the hair. Benzalkonium chloride also acts as a mild antiseptic, which improves clinical performance when the condition is exacerbated by the presence of microbes. The major site of action against microorganisms appears to be the cell membrane, where permeability is altered.

Emollient and skin cleanser.

A highly moisturising, occlusive, leave-on emollient gel without the greasiness of an ointment which actively draws and retains moisture within the skin and provides a protective barrier to help reduce dryness and irritation. The gel is suitable from birth and can be used as a pre-bathing emollient, and also before swimming to help counteract the drying and irritating effects of pool chemicals. Vegan certified, cruelty free and free from SLS, parabens, triethanolamine, fragrances and colours, it contains isopropyl myristate 15% and liquid paraffin 15%. Available in a pump bottle made from 25% less plastic.

An intensely moisturising, occlusive, leave-on emollient that is suitable from birth and free from preservatives, common sensitisers and irritants. Providing long-lasting hydration as a result of its high oil content, the ointment soothes, moisturises, protects and enhances the skin barrier. This vegan certified and cruelty free ointment can be used throughout the day, however if a patient finds the greasy formulation cosmetically unacceptable, it can be applied at nighttime and complemented with another emollient during the day. Particularly suited for overnight use and for hand eczema, it contains white soft paraffin 95% and liquid paraffin 5%. The 500g ointment pot now comes with two free handy spatulas (dishwasher-safe) to decant the ointment, so that patients do not use their fingers to remove it from the pot and potentially contaminate the contents.

An emollient that traps moisture in the skin to restore its natural protective function, is suitable from birth and is fragrance free. Also suitable for use as a soap substitute that includes ingredients commonly used to help maintain skin cleanliness and support barrier protection. Contains aqua, ceteareth-20, cetearyl alcohol, paraffinum liquidum, isopropyl myristate, phenoxyethanol, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and benzalkonium chloride.

Pack containing four types of emollient, which vary in greasiness, consistency and ingredients. AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream is a light, paraffin-free emollient which has all the benefits of colloidal oat including protecting and restoring the skin barrier, soothing the itch, irritation and redness associated with dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, as well as having humectant properties and maintaining the skin’s normal pH; as well as being a moisturiser it can also be used as an effective soap substitute to prevent the skin from drying out further. AproDerm Gel is a highly moisturising gel, without the greasiness of an ointment, which actively draws and retains moisture within the skin and provides a protective barrier to help reduce dryness and irritation; it is also an effective pre-bathing emollient which can be applied to skin prior to bathing to prevent it from drying out even further; it protects skin from the irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing products such as soaps, shower gels and shampoos. AproDerm Ointment, the most intensely moisturising emollient within the pack, provides long-lasting hydration, soothes, moisturises and enhances the skin barrier and is especially good for overnight use and on hand eczema. All these emollients are suitable from birth, SLS free, parabens free, fragrance free, colour free, cruelty free and vegan certified. Patients can try all four before deciding which they prefer, taking into account the dryness of their skin, lifestyle, personal preference and age.
